2008 Hyundai Tucson
Mileage152,702Service Date1/17/2025Services Performed- Technician found the new mass airflow sensor was installed in the wrong direction of airflow causing metering issues. With the sensor turned around the vehicle ran normally. A coolant pressure test was conducted to see where it was leaking from, as there wasn't coolant inside the radiator. Coolant was seen coming from the water pump, but had also made its way into the combustion chamber causing a hydrolock. The engine can't be started now unless the coolant is sucked out of the chamber first. But the vehicle definitely has either a cracked block or large cylinder head gasket leak. This would be about $4k to $6k at the very least to correct (cylinder head gasket or engine replacement). Customer declined repairs at this time.
