- CHECK ENGINE LIGHT OFF AT TIME OF INSPECTION, INDICATING ISSUE IS INTERMITTENT AND HASN'T OCCURED RELATIVELY RECENTLY. RETRIEVED ENGINE MANAGEMENT DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES P0011 & P0021, FOR "A" CAMSHAFT POSITION PERFORMANCE, BANK 1 & BANK 2, RESPECTIVELY. ENGINE OIL LEVEL AND CONDITION OKAY. REMOVED AVCS OIL SUPPLY LINE BANJO BOLTS ON BOTH HEADS TO INSPECT AND POSSIBLY CLEAN OIL FILTER/STRAINERS BUILT INTO THEM, BUT FOUND THE SCREENS ALREADY PREVIOUSLY REMOVED, AS PER SUBARU TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN 02-97-05. CLEANED AVCS OIL INPUTS WITH COMPRESSED AIR AND REASSEMBLED. COMPLETED OIL CHANGE AND OTHER MAINTENANCE, AND THEN ROAD TESTED FOR TOTAL OF ABOUT 10 MILES, ON FREEWAY AND CITY STREETS, STARTING WITH COLD ENGINE, IN THREE RUSHED DRIVE CYCLES, WHILE OBSERVING CAM TIMING WITH SCAN TOOL – CAM TIMING ADJUSTMENTS WERE WORKING CORRECTLY NOW, AND NO DTC REAPPEARED.
- Includes : Change oil and oil filter. Lube all fittings on steering linkage, ball joints & drive shaft(s). Check and correct all fluid levels to include power steering fluid, coolant, battery acid (unless battery sealed), automatic transmission fluid. Inspect brake fluid. Check tire pressure. Install "Next Service Due" sticker.
